ಎಲ್ಲಕಂ ನಿನಗಿಲ್ಲ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯದಧಿಕಾರ |
ಇಲ್ಲದೆಯುಮಿಲ್ಲ ನಿನಗಾ ಹೊರೆಯ ಪಾಲು ||
ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಾದನಿತ, ಮಿಕ್ಕುದು ಪಾಲಿಗನ ಪಾಡು |
ಒಲ್ಲನವನ್ ಅರೆನಚ್ಚ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ||

ellakam ninagilla kartavyadadhikaara|
illadeyumilla ninagaa horeya paalu|| 
sallisaadanita, mikkudu paaligana paaDu|
ollanavan arenaccha - mankutimma||

Neither in all tasks do thou possess the authority of duty.
Nor are thou exempted from shouldering the burden of responsibility.
